• Usernames: You may choose to provide a username for your sessions. This is optional and you can remain anonymous.

• Device Identifiers: We collect a unique device identifier (not tied to your personal identity) for moderation and safety purposes.

 

Voice Data

• Microphone Audio: We process your voice audio in real-time to enable voice chat functionality.

• Audio is NOT recorded or stored. Your voice data is transmitted temporarily during active sessions and is not saved.

 

Technical Information

• Device Information: We collect device model, operating system version, and device identifiers for technical support and moderation.

• Usage Data: We track which rooms you join, session duration, and participation patterns for improving the service.

 

Moderation Data

• Safety Actions: If moderation actions are taken (mute, kick, ban), we store anonymized records to maintain platform safety.

• Device Fingerprints: We use cryptographic device fingerprints to prevent abuse and maintain a safe environment.

 

HOW WE USE YOUR INFORMATION

 

We use the information we collect to:

 

1. Provide Voice Chat Services: Enable real-time voice communication in support groups

2. Ensure Safety: Monitor and moderate content to prevent abuse and harassment

3. Improve the App: Analyze usage patterns to enhance user experience

Agora RTC Engine

• Purpose: Provides real-time voice communication infrastructure

• Data: Audio streams (not stored)

Firebase / Google Cloud

• Purpose: Backend services for room management and data storage

• Data: Room listings, moderation logs, user preferences

No Analytics Services

We do NOT use analytics services like Google Analytics or Facebook Analytics that track your behavior across websites.

 

DATA STORAGE AND RETENTION

 

• Voice Data: Not stored. Audio is processed in real-time only.

• Session Data: Automatically deleted when you leave a room.

• Moderation Logs: Retained for up to 90 days for safety purposes.

• Device Identifiers: Retained indefinitely for abuse prevention.

 

YOUR RIGHTS

 

You have the right to:

 

1. Access: Request a copy of the data we have about you

2. Deletion: Request deletion of your data (contact us below)

3. Correction: Request correction of inaccurate information

4. Opt-Out: Stop using the app at any time (data will be retained per our retention policy)

 

CHILDREN'S PRIVACY

 

Our app is not intended for users under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us immediately.

The Vent Room is committed to preventing and responding to child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE).

 

Our standards:

Prevention

  • We do not allow content that sexualizes or endangers minors.

  • Our Community Guidelines and Terms of Use prohibit child sexual abuse material (CSAM) and any conduct that exploits or endangers children.

  • We use moderation and in-app reporting to identify and remove violating content and accounts.

Reporting and response

  • Users can report child safety concerns in-app (Support & Contact; in-app reporting where available).

  • We review all reports and remove content that violates our policies.

  • We report apparent CSAM and related evidence to relevant regional and national authorities (e.g. NCMEC in the US and equivalent bodies elsewhere) as required by law.
